Delivering fresh starts since 2022

After you pull up carpet, you're left with a mess. Tack strips. Staples. Nails. Stuck-on padding. Dust everywhere.

New flooring can't go down on that. The subfloor needs to be clean and smooth. We handle all the prep work.

What We Do

  • Remove all tack strips from perimeter
  • Pull out staples and nails
  • Scrape off stuck padding residue
  • Sweep and clean the subfloor
  • Remove transition strips and thresholds
  • Dispose of all debris

Why Proper Prep Matters

If you're installing hardwood or laminate, the subfloor needs to be level and clean. Leftover staples or tack strips will mess up the installation.

If you're putting down new carpet, old tack strips might be reusable — but only if they're in good shape. Usually, they need to come out.

Either way, starting with a clean, prepared surface makes the next step easier.

Subfloor Damage?

Sometimes we uncover subfloor issues after the carpet comes up. Water stains. Soft spots. Damaged boards.

We'll let you know what we find. While we don't do subfloor repair ourselves, we can point you toward someone who does.
